Steven “Seth” Alexander

Stephen “Seth” Alexander, 19, of Spartanburg, SC, and newly Baxley, GA, left this earth on January 25, 2025.

Seth was a graduate of Dorman High School, where he was a proud member of the Bass Fishing Team for 5 years. This is where he met many of his best friends, and became the first recipient of the Matthew James Mcleskey Memorial Scholarship.

Seth was truly one of a kind. He was kind, compassionate, and was one who loved wholly and deeply, with a heart full of the Lord. This was evident in how he lived his life everyday. Seth cared for people when others were overlooked. He wanted everyone to feel included, and did not care how others viewed him. He was not only a brother to his three siblings, but to everyone who accepted him and his love for the Lord.

When he was not fishing, some of Seth’s favorite pastimes included playing basketball, baseball, Xbox games with his friends and cousins, and blasting music while working on his “physique.” One of his biggest passions in life was to achieve the perfect, most crisp handshake, one that he worked hard for. Everyone who had the honor of shaking his hand could tell this to be true.

Seth was a simple young man, with a heart and soul far beyond his years. His favorite artists included Marty Robbins, Creedance Clearwater Revival, and various others, all of which he would dance and sing to at every given opportunity. His most beloved pet was his cat, Sasha, that he, of course, called “Bud” and everything but her girly name.

Seth’s final journey in life took him down to Baxley, GA. He left his Spartanburg home to follow his true passion at a family business, Sike’s Propane. He planned to work alongside his favorite cousins, John Evan and Nolan Sikes, to keep the town of Baxley spic and span. Although he had big plans for his life, the Lord had even better.

Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” This is not only what Seth believed, it is what he knew. He lived his life in peace, knowing what eternal life was waiting for him in the end. He was not afraid then, and he is not afraid now. He dedicated his life to the Lord, and was rewarded. The way Seth lived his life is something to learn from, and one to use as an inspiration to others.
